Day on Torts: A Handbook for Tennessee Tort Lawyers 2008 by John A. Day

John A. Day of Day & Blair, P.C. in Brentwood has identified 233 different Tennessee tort law subjects and then selected and summarized  the leading case on each subject to give you a quick, readable synopsis of current state of the law.  Many of the summaries  include citations to other cases to give you even more information on the subject of your inquiry.

This book will save you dozens of hours of research every year, permitting you to quickly find the leading case and use that case to narrow the scope of your research.

The 968-page text also includes a compilation of over 675 Tennessee statutes of interest to tort lawyers, current through July 1, 2007.  The balance of the book includes the full text of  the Tennessee Rules of Evidence, the Tennessee Rules of Civil Procedure, and the Tennessee Rules of Appellate Procedure.

This book will be updated and re-published each Fall. In the interim, purchasers will be able find the latest cases and statutes on each of the tort subjects by coming to this website and visiting the "Free Update" section.  This service will give you a summary of every Tennessee appellate court decision that addresses the subject of torts.

The supplemental cases will be incorporated into the 2009 edition of the book.  Similarly, the 2009 edition will reflect changes in tort law statutes and the rules of evidence, civil procedure and appellate procedure.
